A total lunar eclipse occurs when the moon and the sun are exactly on opposite sides of Earth. 
The reddish color of the moon is due  to Rayleigh's scattering  That is simply the atmospheric refraction that causes the sun to appear red at sunrise or set and white during the afternoon. 

Now you are highly curious to see the spectacular view. 
Okay there are many myths not to see the Eclipse that is because of the Rays that are projected 
This may harm your eyes and skin. 
But no worries an xray can help you 
If you have an X ray sheet you may see the eclipse through the sheet without exposing yourself to the rays.
